Nicole Johnson
Partner
Biography
Nicole Johnson is a Partner at Forerunner Ventures, which she joined in 2013, shortly after the firm's founding. Trained in psychology, she has deep curiosity for the consumer psyche — why we behave the way we do, how we relate to the world around us, and what quietly shifts before a market notices. She is drawn to founders building the consumer experiences that change how people live.
Nicole's path from early associate to Partner reflects an around-the-clock conviction for the founders she backs. She has backed companies including Dutch, Headway, Nécessaire, DUOS, Koah, Tapstitch, Courtyard, and Stadium Goods (acquired by FARFETCH), and is known among founders for the kind of sharp, steady support and they remember long after a round closes.
Before Forerunner, Nicole worked at SapientNitro, a brand and digital strategy consultancy, where she guided Fortune 500 retailers on their global strategies. She graduated cum laude from Princeton University and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in Venture Capital in 2016.
