Anthony Perez turns fund and portfolio information into intelligence Forerunner can act on — building the financial infrastructure that lets the firm back founders at their earliest stages. His work spans the full breadth of the finance function: fund financial reporting, LP reporting, portfolio data, investment valuations, fund administration, and cash management. In venture, finance sits at the nexus of investing and operations, and the role keeps widening — from reporting into data, systems, and strategy. Anthony works that full arc.

Anthony's conviction is that great investing runs on great infrastructure. As the finance function keeps evolving, he builds the systems that evolve with it — transparent, precise, and designed so the team can move with confidence.

Anthony came to venture out of a desire to support founders on the entrepreneurial journey, and found in Forerunner a firm built around exactly that. He began his career at a boutique firm providing outsourced CFO services to private equity firms and small businesses — everything from a local bakery manufacturer to a multinational consultancy — a formative range that gave him deep empathy for the people building. He went on to private equity at Clearlake Capital Group and, before that, Crescent Capital Group, both in Los Angeles. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.
